GCCI HOA Community Leader Summit 9.jpg

Since our inception in 2021, GCCI has worked on projects dedicated to the expressed needs and benefits of the community

  • Improved road conditions by working with ADOT and Pinal County Public Works

  • Worked to lower sewer rates for Gold Canyon residents

  • Developed good working relationships with Pinal County staff to ensure the needs of Gold Canyon are being met

  • Cooperated with the AZ Water Company in the development of a community water conservation program and encouraged HOAs to take advantage of free consultations on their water usage

  • Coordinated with ADOBE to obtain a Firewise Community status for Gold Canyon. Two HOA communities have since been designated as Firewise Communities.

  • Working with surrounding communities in efforts to become a Dark Sky Community. Filed our official application with Dark Sky International to become a Dark Sky Community in August 2023

  • Arranged for ASU to select Gold Canyon out of 42 other communities to conduct a land-use study for inclusion into a Community Plan

  • Surveyed the community to help determine the needs and expectations of residents for the future of Gold Canyon

  • Developed a draft Community Plan that has the tacit approval of the County which is developing into a Special Area Plan under the direction of Pinal County Planning and Development

  • GCCI has taken the initiative to create a community center It will provide small businesses an opportunity to collaborate and allow local artists and crafters the ability to display their work. The Community Center "The Heart of Gold Canyon" allows residents to access information relating to their community and to enjoy meeting new people. It is a community center for all ages providing events for all.

  • The Gold Canyon Visitor Center was relocated into the Community Center as a more permanent home.

  • In April 2024 conducted an initial HOA Summit that brought together 18 HOA leaders, other community representatives, and Pinal County staff for an event to share ideas, gain a sense of community and learn about future developments affecting Gold Canyon.
